Vintage PINK Victorian Christmas Ornament Set

I have been busy this week making these Victorian Christmas ornament sets. I will be putting them in my Whispering Secrets of a Primitive Past Street Shoppe today.

This ornament is made from a tinsel ring. Added to it is beaded snow flakes, ribbon roses, vintage angel scrap, and a pink glittered star,

This is a bottle brush tree with ornaments and mica snow.

A paper church adorned with glass glitter, tinsel, beads and dresden foil star.
An angel sits on top of a vintage glass ornament. Decorated with tinsel, dresden foil and glass beads.

A german glass glitter star, decorated with vintage gold trim, tinsel, and a scrap angel.

From 1870 -1910, was the golden era of Victorian Christmas ornaments. The tree glowed with hand-made shinny ornaments of many shapes. Hours were spent by the Victorian ladies of the house, maing small decorations from paper shapes, crinkled gold or silver, glorious lace and trims, spun-glass, Dresden trim, tinsel, crinkle wire, feathers, glass beads, glitter & more. These ornaments where the most exquisite ornaments ever created.

My ornaments are one-of-a-kind & hand-crafted. Each ornament not only very inventive, but elaborate. Vintage and antique materials are incorporated into each ornament, so.... the Victorian Ornament feels like an authentic, old ornament, with personality and attention to detail. All ornaments are made by me,
thus giving them the control to ensure the very best quality and craftsmanship.

Happy Pink Saturday!

Last week as I was taking my daughter to school and on the way I spotted this old piano bench in my neighbors trash. I thought to myself, " I could do a remake on that," I was still in my pajamas and was to embarrassed to stop to pick it up. When I picked up my daughter the bench was still there, so...I made her get it and put it in the back of my truck. I couldn't wait to get home and begin fixing it up.

Here are some pics of the before and after of my remake of the the little old piano bench.

I tore off the old fabric &I lightly sanded it.

The inside wood was broken so I glued it.

I painted some old wood crack it on it and painted it white. Sanded the edges for an aged look.
I covered the seat using some old vintage Upostry fabric I had. The fabric has a PINK flower stripe design on it.

When I painted the inside I masked out the manufactures lable (Tonk Bench Mfg.Co.Chicago) so I could keep it visable. Then I lined the inside with some vintage PINK rose scented drawer paper.

I am using it as a foot rest as I sit at my computer. It's also a great place to store my printer paper.

As I always say one womans trash is anothers womans treasure.

Pink Saturday!

This Saturday I'm sharing these vintage paper dolls. Enlarge, print on card stock and cut out. They could be given to your Halloween guests.
This one is by Grace Drayton (1877-1936) Halloween illustrated paper doll .
Drayton also did the Campbell soup kids.

Paper dolls have existed for more than 300 years and even until now, they are still inexpensive toys every child can play with.

This one below, was found in the trash by Mark Forder. He stumbled across it when it was being thrown out in a dumpster filled with other boxes.  He took the box home and placed it in a closet where it remained for 6 months or so. One day he had some free time and he decided to see what was in it, and to him it appeared to be just a bunch of old papers. Not knowing much he started to inquire about the various papers over the internet and he also purchased a book on "Paper Collectibles". Much to his suprise he was finding that many of the papers were important to local historians as well as national societies/museums such as "The Cooperstown Baseball Hall of Fame", and the "Smithsonian" (for the theatre papers).
What a find.
One mans trash is anothers mans treasures.
To see what else was in the box go to Marks website.

Happy Pink Saturday

October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
It is to increase awareness of the disease and to raise funds for research into its cause, prevention and cure. The campaign also offers information and support to those affected by breast cancer.

As well as providing a platform for breast cancer charities to raise awareness of their work and of the disease, BCAM is also a prime opportunity to remind women to be breast aware for earlier detection.
It is the month I schedule for my yearly mammogram.

This Saturday I have designed some Breast Cancer Awareness
hangtags and a seed pack. You can enlarge, save and print them.

Add a PINK ribbon to these tags and they make great book marks.

Add your favorite seeds  and label .Then pass them on to friends.
What a great way to remind friends of the  importance of
research of the cause, prevention and cure of breast cancer.
